May 6, 2019 The launcher is getting stuck on extracting java i let it sit all day and it just wont install the version of java it says i need. Alternatively (or additionally), try to go to the oracle website and download Java manually. TL;DR: Windows 7, Minecraft: Java Edition won't install/launch because the I downloaded both the minecraft.msi and .exe files from the Mojang website.
